On the peninsula of Tahiti, a promontory seems to sail between sea and mountain. The ancient Tahitians came here to scan the horizon in search of schools of fish or in anticipation of attacks by enemy tribes. They had made it a place of worship. On the leeward coast, facing the setting sun, Teahupoo is a village at the end of the world. The road gives way to a seaside path that leads to the cliffs of Pari and the vast expanses of Fenua Aihere where "Nature Men" still lived until recently...
Nothing has changed here. Fishing, food crops, crafts and above all the kindness of the inhabitants, this is the Polynesia of yesterday and today.
The small port that welcomes the fishing boats and the round-the-world sailboats is the meeting place for the entire village.
